Traffic Counts for Vicinity of the Proposed Road
The image shown above is the ArDOT 2019 Average Daily Traffic Count (ADTC) for the area. It shows that the highest numbers are by the interstate. Current roads (Promenade, 52nd St., New Hope, and others) could be improved to handle the congestion from Walton/Walnut. Around the interstate the ADTC is close to 40,000 vehicles. If only 10% of the cars use this road, it will be 4,000 cars per day streaming by the Trail of Two Cities, a new school with hundreds of school children, and through a residential area. This road is not needed or wanted by the residents of this community or other trail users. It will bring pollution of noise, emissions, and light through the residential community and the volume is not safe.
