By joining the BHS volunteer team, you can make a difference in a Dog or Cat's life. We cherish our wonderful volunteers because they enable us to save the lives of our pets. There are many ways to volunteer, including helping with our website (adding dogs and cats), our newsletter, our education committee, and others. You can also help us by:

Open Your Home to a Pet by Becoming a Foster

How rewarding is this? Seeing that face of “Thanks” from a dog or cat who may be stressed from entering the shelter, then seeing how much they blossom into a wonderful loving companion. A foster home is a safe, positive, warm, loving home that will show the basic commands, help work out any issues, letting them know that there will always be food and water for them. The HSGB will provide all veterinary care, food, and crate. Fostering is one of the most rewarding parts of volunteering, if you are interested in fostering, please fill out the application or contact us at info@humanesocietygb.org

Types of foster homes

  1. Foster home for orphaned puppies or kittens for up to six weeks
  2. Special Needs Foster home - for handicapped pets or pets recovering from injuries
  3. Foster home for dogs or cats needing socialization or a break from the shelter.
